Love & Hip Hop Atlanta (Update #2)

Three episodes after from my first review, here’s my latest spiel on LHHATL.

My two favorite characters are Rasheeda and Erica. I believe they are the most genuine out of the entire Love & Hip Hop-ATL cast.

At first, I didn’t really like Rasheeda because she was just  a bit too hood for me. However, in the last three episodes, we all saw a much softer side of the “Boss Chick”. I actually admire her for the many roles she plays. She’s a wife, mother and a career woman who takes each role seriously. Personally,  I think she made the right decision by going to visit another agent. If she’s not where she wants to be in her career, maybe starting anew is her best bet!

Erica is a tough woman. Although she would like for her relationship to work with Scrappy, it appears that she is aware and willing to accept that it may not. That says a lot about her character. She knows what’s best for her and I believe she’ll stay true to that.

In watching the last three episodes, I’ve realized that K. Michelle is crazy. She has a beautiful voice, but she is a loose cannon. I don’t think she handled either meeting with Karlie Redd like an adult. It seems to me that the rumors about her being crazy have some substance to them. Sheesh!

The Mimi-Stevie J-Joseline love triangle is just a big mess. Everyone in the situation is lacking something mentally. What I mean by that, is that something negative is deeply rooted in each person, which is allowing them to behave they way they are. Stevie J is so far from being a real man, it’s disgusting. Joseline is the sideline and she’s okay with that. Mimi has put up with Stevie J’s nonsense and doesn’t seem to really realize how ridiculous she is for continuing to participate in  the charades. Everyone in this situation needs to self-reflect, find out the issue within themselves and commit to making better decisions. I wish that Joseline was done with the situation, but obviously she’s not considering she and Stevie J are now engaged (Reported my However, I do commend her for stepping up and setting up a meeting with Mimi.

Lil Scrappy really needs to get his mind together. He needs to self-reflect and find out what it is he truly wants in life. And his mother is just doing thee most. It actually bothered me that she called Erica, the mother of her grandchild, a bitch in front of Scrappy’s new fling, Shay. I don’t think that was called for. Mama D needs to find something to do with her time, so she won’t feel compelled to stay so involved in Scrappy’s life. I must admit though that I laughed out loud when Shay asked why Erica was over Scrappy’s house that early anyway. Let’s be real Shay, you know why!

Okay, was I the only one completely creeped out by Benzino and Karlie Redd? Their relationship seems to be moving at a very fast pace, but to each his or her own. I guess… It does appear that Benzino is genuine about his feelings for Karlie and vice versa, so I’m interested in seeing how their relationship develops.

Now, a repeated theme that I’ve heard over the course of the show is that some of the characters want to stay together for the sake of their child ( Lil Scrappy & Erica and Stevie J & Mimi). I think that is a great attitude to have, but that can’t be the only reason you want to make a relationship work. In situations where two people are only together for the sake of the child(ren) can cause more harm to the child(ren) than if the parents were separated. I think people should be in relationship because they want to be and believe it’s best for them, which in turn will result in being better for the child(ren).

Week 3: Insanity & WW


Note: I’m not sure what it is, but I think my metabolism is getting the best of me. I try my best to only snack on fruits or low point foods.

Weight loss/gain: 1 lb (loss)

Day 14 (Insanity Day off): Unfortunately, I was unable to move yesterday’s workout to today. My guests did not leave until late in the evening and I had errands I needed to run. I’m not sure what I should do next, so I will consult a beachbody coach.

Breakfast-Lunch: None

Dinner: Curry  Shrimp, Rice and Peas, Cabbage and dumplings (fried)

Beverages: Water

Day 15 (Fit Test): I consulted both a beachbody coach and the Insanity Facebook page about missing a workout. I was told to stay on schedule. I definitely improved. I’m happy that I am pushing myself! It’s so easy to lose motivation and give in to temptation.

Breakfast: Yogurt & Apple Crisp Granola Bar (2)

Lunch: Smart Ones Chicken Mesquite and Red Skin Mashed Potatoes

Dinner: Southwestern-Style White Chicken Chili, grilled cheese and tortilla chips (3/4 serving)

Snacks: Apple Crisp Granola Bar (2) & banana

Beverages: Water and Tea

Day 16 (Plyo Cardio): Great workout. At first, I was not going to do it because of how tired I am. However, I realized I started this journey and I need to finish it. It turned out to be really good. I’m starting to take fewer breaks!

Breakfast: Oatmeal & Silk Soy Milk

Lunch: Smart Ones Chicken Quesadilla

Dinner: Grilled Chicken Sandwich, Cheetos and Baked Beans

Snacks: Apple Crisp Granola Bar & Bananas (2)

Beverages: Tea and water

Day 17 (Pure Cardio & Cardio Abs): I’ve noticed I’ve been able to get through the warm up without stopping or decreasing my pace. I pushed harder during Pure Cardio. This was my first time doing Cardio Abs and it was difficult. It’s another reminder of my lack of upper body strength, but I must say that I did enjoy the workout.

Breakfast: Oatmeal & Silk Soy Milk

Lunch: Smart Ones fettuccine Alfredo

Dinner: Sliced Chicken Sandwich, Baked Beans & Corn

Snacks: Apple Crisp Granola Bar, Banana & Cherries

Beverages: Tea & Water

Day 18 (Cardio Recovery): I most certainly got a good stretch doing this exercise. I wasn’t struggling as much; I’m happy about that!

Breakfast: Oatmeal & Silk Soy Milk

Lunch: Smart Ones Broccoli and Cheddar Roasted Potatoes

Dinner: Sliced Chicken Sandwich, Baked Beans & Cheetos

Snacks: Apple Crisp Granola Bar, Banana & Cherries

Beverages: Tea & Water

Day 19 (Cardio Power & Resistance): This was an excellent workout. I was working my core and I had the sweat to prove it! I am improving with every workout and I am truly enjoying the results!

Breakfast: Oatmeal, 1/3 of my normal serving of Silk Soy Milk, 1/2 cheese omelet (Smart Ones)

Lunch: Smart Ones Chicken Quesadilla & Baked Cheetos

Dinner: Fruit Cup (Tangerines, apples, grapes, cherries & strawberries)

Snacks: Apple Crisp Granola Bar & Peanut M&Ms (Don’t judge me, it was a tough day.)

Beverages: Tea & Water

Day 20 (Plyo Cardio):  I can see the improvements! Your girl is definitely getting into those level one drills! I’m doing good push ups and all! Pat on my back!

Breakfast: Egg white cheese (reduced fat) omelet, 2 slices of wheat toast & turkey sausage

Lunch: Sliced Chicken Sandwich & Cheetos

Dinner: Grilled Chicken Breast, Cabbage, Red Beans & small cheese (reduced fat) quesadilla.

Snacks: Banana

Beverages: Tea & Water

Frankies The Gourmet of Fast Food

Frankies was founded in Waterbury, Connecticut and  is known for their extra long hot dogs. The location I went to is located at 909 West Kennedy Boulevard, Tampa, Fl.

This past weekend, I had the pleasure of hosting a banquet for my community service organization, Eternal Legendary Queens, Inc. We were on a tight budget, and I wanted to make sure that I made the best of the situation. I looked at several restaurants in the Tampa area and found that Frankies would do just fine. They have great prices and the food is served in good portions.

I’ve eaten Frankies before, but I’ve never dined in. So, this was my first time dining in and the experience was wonderful. Frankies is set up like regular fast food restaurant, except they bring your orders to your table and they serve beer.

The moment I stepped in the door, I was greeted with smiling faces. Jordan, the manager on duty, was awesome and extremely helpful. They have a private area that has two entrances and a TV. This is the area I reserved for the banquet and was pleased in how it was setup. Although, it had two entrances, it still felt very private.

The food was a step up from the meals you can order at your standard fast food restaurant. I ordered a garden salad and grilled chicken sandwich. The garden salad was too big for me and I didn’t finish it. Despite being on Weight Watchers and Insanity, I ordered bleu cheese as my dressing. It was your standard bleu cheese dressing, nothing special. The grilled chicken sandwich was pretty good though. The chicken breast was a good size and was marinated well. It came with onions, lettuce, tomatoes and pickles.

Next time I go, I want to try their buffalo chicken philly. Yes, I will be going again because I was pleased with the service and food. Frankies has a really laid back atmosphere; I would recommend going there to watch a sporting event or to just hang out.

Essie’s Go Overboard

I have never been the one to wear solid nail colors until recently. I am 26-years-old and the first time I’ve ever worn a solid color on my nails was about 3 years ago. I’ve always played it safe with a french manicure. Although I’ve ventured out on my finger nails, I REFUSE to paint my toes a solid color. Never have, never will.

Anyway, Essie recently introduced a new color called, Go Overboard. I absolutely love this color! I think it’s a very classy color with a touch of attitude. I think it matches well with my complexion as well, something I am concerned about when choosing nail polishes. 

Essie generally retails from about $7-8 depending on where you purchase it. This is a good quality brand and I’d put it in the category of OPI. It goes on smoothly and two coats does the trick. I’ve worn nail polishes that take three coats, so I was definitely thrilled that I only needed two coats. Go Overboard is a great summer color and can be worn in the fall as well. I’d highly recommend this color, especially since I’ve received several compliments on it.
