By now everyone has heard of the beef between JoJo Simmons and Juelz Santana. In order to get a full grasp on things I had to start from the beginning. I listened to the verse where Juelz Santana referenced JoJo, and then I listened to JoJo’s Juelz Santana diss.
I don’t think Juelz Santana was trying to diss JoJo. The reference was basically implying that he’s much bigger than the person coming at him. Russell Simmons is much bigger than JoJo Simmons. Period. Now, a simple-minded person like JoJo would take that and run with it. I listened to his song and while it was hard to get past how horrible he sounded, he did say some truthful things. Juelz Santana has fallen off the map, but how can JoJo compare his money to Juelz Santana. What money has he earned?
JoJo’s song, “Holy Water”, definitely struck a chord with Santana. A member of the Skull Gang confronted JoJo and made him apologize. They took pictures of the incident and uploaded one to Instagram. The picture features a fearful JoJo on the phone.
JoJo Simmons commented on the altercation in an interview that took place at an event he attended in support of a friend. Without using the direct quote, he said that he grew up around money, and not the thug life. He’s not with the violence. All he does is fuck bitches, count money and travel the world. Well JoJo, if that’s all you do, then why did you make a diss track?
JoJo is that annoying coat-riding thirsty guy that everyone tries to ignore. He should just play the background, and accept the fact that he’s not going to be relevant unless he’s getting jacked up and made to apologize for wasting people’s time. His issues probably stem from all the success his siblings are getting. I’m sorry, but everyone is not meant to be famous. I bet he’ll think again about putting out another diss track though.
This incident should be a lesson learned for everyone. People shouldn’t pretend to be someone they are not. The best person you can be is yourself. Pretending to be someone you’re not will get you caught up and you may even end up in an incident like JoJo. Now, I definitely don’t condone what happened to him. Bullying people is not the way to go nor is it cool to send out a minion to handle your dirty work. I think Juelz’s camp took it too far, but what’s done is done.
