Here’s the Fit of the Week! Pairing leggings with dresses really make for an awesome outfit. I wasn’t feeling very bright. So, I just wore dark colors. Not to mention it was raining, which made it one of those days. I was going to wear a pair of Ugg-style boots, but decided to go with the combat boots. I think the boots added a bit of flair to the outfit. I like combing different styles to complete an outfit. Although I didn’t want to wear any bright colors, I added color through my makeup. I think this is another way to add color to a dark/dull colored outfit.

5 Tips for Valentine’s Day [4 the fellas]

love-u-valentines-day-19080940-1024-768

We are all aware that Valentine’s Day is a Hallmark holiday. Not to mention, this holiday is definitely more geared toward women. Regardless of what we might think of the holiday, it’s not going anywhere. It’s here to stay. Now, I know there are a lot of men who are scrambling, trying to get things in order to show their woman that they get it. So, I’ve decided to help those who are hopeless, and don’t get it. Below, I’ve outlined 5 Tips for Valentine’s Day.

roses1. Flowers & Card

If you don’t do anything else, please send/give flowers to your woman. Nothing says “I love you” like a nice bouquet of  red roses, and a card from the heart. For those who aren’t in-love just yet, send/give pink roses instead. I personally don’t know a woman who doesn’t like flowers, or reading a card that is sentimental. This will be the setup for whatever else you have planned for your lady.

2. The Gift gift

The gift(s) you choose are very important. The gift will show how much thought you put into making sure you’re woman is happy. Fellas, do not, I repeat, do not, get your woman a practical gift. Get her something she wants, not needs. If you were thinking about buying her a coffee maker or a pot set, forget about it; unless she specifically requests something practical. Gift baskets, spa treatments, and jewelry always make great gifts. However, you know what your woman likes. So, get something you know will make her happy. And no, it doesn’t have to be super expensive.

3. Plans picnic

Do something memorable. That’s what these Hallmark holidays are about. Don’t just settle for the old dinner and a movie Valentine’s Day. There are so many things you two can do; try something new. Depending on your budget, you can go on a helicopter ride, or setup a picnic in the park. Whatever you decide, you should try to top the plans you had last Valentine’s Day.

4. Look the Part idris

This should come as a no-brainier. Fellas, when it’s time to go out, make sure you look dapper. I know a lot of women like when their men make a point to look good for them. Whether it be a fresh haircut, or a nice shirt, do come dressed to impress (your woman that is). You already know that your woman is going to look fly, so make sure you do too.

5. Show emotion hands

While, gifts, flowers, and cards are all very nice things. Nothing tops off a romantic evening like passion and heartfelt gestures. I’m not saying you should be a total sap, but you should express your feelings through words, and physical gestures, like hugs and kisses. Little compliments go along way. Trust me on this guys!

Follow these 5 Tips, and you will not fail this Valentine’s Day! Who knows; you might even get lucky. 😉

***NOTE: I know some of you may have just started dating the woman who you’re with. Please don’t think that you should skip out on spoiling your woman on Valentine’s Day. I’m not saying that you have to be as elaborate on your first Valentine’s Day together as you would on your 5th. However, you should do something that is memorable, and shows that you look forward to your future together.

Here’s a couple of links to give you ideas for Valentine’s Day gifts and dates.

FOW

Ladies and gentlemen, here’s the Fit Of the Week. I like this look, again, because I so comfortable. I fell in love with this shirt the moment I tried it on, and I like to pair it with things you wouldn’t normally see. That’s exactly what I did here. I am really into colored jeans that are flattering of course. Since, I am able to wear them to work, I definitely stray away from colors that are too bright and look child-like. I love these boots! I actually have them in black as well. Cognac or camel, whatever you want to call it, can be paired with a lot of colors, and different styles.

My Top 10 Must Haves for Summer 2012

We are nearing the official start of the summer season and unfortunately for the those of us living in Florida, summer weather actually seems to be year-round. I’ve come up with a list of ten things I think are necessary for this summer season. These are by no means arranged in any kind of order.

Numero Uno: Bright Nails!!! Bright hues on your nails is essential this summer and this is definitely the season you can get away with it. Right now, I’m wearing a shade called Sunshine, and it’s just that!

Two & Three: I combined these simply because the picture engulfs two things I think will be hot this summer. It’s a maxi dress and the print is tribal. Tribal print seems to be making a huge splash as we leave the spring season and enter the summer season. Furthermore, summer screams maxi dress! This dress is gorgeous and I hope I can find it!

Quatre: wedges. WEDges. WEDGES! I absolutely love wedges. They’re my favorite type of shoe and I wear them year around. However, I try to stay far away from cork during the fall/winter seasons, but will most certainly rock them during the summer season. Cork wedges are a hot commodity and should be included in any summer wardrobe.

:خَمْسَةٌ I know this article of clothing will be a flash back for all those who were subjected to the wild 80s trends. Well, it’s back again. Unfortunately, as soon as hits stores, they usually sell out quickly. I had to find an old jean jacket and cut the sleeves off to be apart of this trend. The jean vest can be worn in other seasons of course, but I think it would be a nice addition to a cute floral print dress.

Bronzer! Try applying bronzer instead of the normal blush application. I’ve recently become a fan of blush, but I was introduced to bronzer a little while ago. I have a darker complexion, so I try to pick a bronzer that is deep in color. I usually apply it to the T-Zone and my cheek bones. It gives me a glowing look that I can’t get from my blush.

Sette e Otto :  I’m going to hit two birds with one stone for this. To the right is an asymmetrical sheer top. Asymmetrical cuts have made their way back onto the fashion scene and they’ve come back in full force. I’ve seen asymmetric shirts, skirts and dresses. I’m not a big fan of asymmetric skirts and dresses, but I do own a few tops. I think they add a bit of flair to my wardrobe that I’m unable to get with my regular cut tops. Sheer tops are always a must have in any woman’s closet. I absolutely love the combination of the two styles!

Tisa: In order to find the perfect pair of sunglasses for this post, I googled “Grandma Sunglasses”. Grandma glasses are a cute way to accent your summer wardrobe and keep the sun out of your eyes. I’ve noticed that this type of frame has been pushing out the aviator and Ray Ban style glasses!

10: My final item that is a must have for the summer is a smile. As easy as it is,  a smile should always be the finishing touch to any wardrobe.
